We specialize in building the exterior shell of barndominiums and shop houses for your dream life in the country. Built to lock-up, our shop homes showcase distinct exterior designs and spacious interiors, ready for you to finish with the floor plan and features of your choice. Designed for low maintenance and energy efficiency, our barndos combine functionality, practicality, and thoughtful design for comfortable country living.

Whether you call it a barndominium, shop home, or shouse, a post frame home offers low-maintenance exteriors, open interiors, superior energy efficiency, and fast construction compared to traditional residential builds. With features that enhance your lifestyle, you and your family will love coming home to a space built just for you.

Post frame construction offers complete design flexibility for your barndo or shouse shell. Whether you need a second floor for extra space or a large, attached workshop, our homes are customized for your family. Exteriors are thoughtfully designed to complement your property and reflect your vision.

The widely spaced columns that form the shell of a post frame barndominium or shop home create large wall cavities, allowing for more insulation and superior R-values. The added insulation helps reduce energy costs, making post frame homes a smart choice for long-term savings and comfort.

Using fewer materials and streamlined construction methods, the shell of your barndo reaches the lock-up stage faster than traditional homes. This means we can hand over your home sooner, so you can start on your dream interior without the wait of traditional construction.

Our shop houses are built with durable metal cladding, providing superior resistance to damage compared to traditional siding and shingles. With low-maintenance requirements, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your home will remain beautiful with minimal effort.

Built with post frame construction, our shop houses feature clear-span interiors free from load-bearing walls—ideal for combining a working shop with comfortable living quarters—giving you unmatched flexibility to design the perfect space for your family. Whatever you’re envisioning, the unobstructed space allows for endless possibilities.

Largely, yes. A shop house—sometimes called a shouse—combines a large working shop attached to a primary residence. A barndominium refers to the same concept, and is often used interchangeably with shop home.
The two terms are used interchangeably. The difference comes down to technicalities—both refer to a home built with a large attached working space; it doesn’t have to be a workshop or barn specifically, despite what the names suggest.
We build the exterior shell to the lock-up stage: walls, cladding, roof, windows, and doors complete in a weather-resistant structure. From there, you’ll work with a general contractor to finish the interior with the floor plan, plumbing, electrical, and finishes. This process lets us focus on our core area of expertise, which is post frame construction.
