In the early days of Remuda, we started from humble beginnings in Steve’s yard, where every aspect of our business—crews, office staff, sales, purchasing, and inventory—began. Reflecting on those foundational years brings to mind the spirit of innovation and determination that defined our journey.

A Decade at Remuda

I started with Steve in February of 2014, to help with sales and general business development. Steve had a vision to expand into the post-frame market and give the people around him the opportunity to grow with it. When we started, things looked a lot different. There was a running joke that when you started in the office you had to actually help build your office. This was true for Steve, myself, Jon, and Marc and I’m pretty sure we made Alice and Kendra help too.
I remember getting my computer and office set up, turning it on, and then asking “So what now”. On any given day, you might be trying to sell, doing a material take-off, loading a truck, or helping build on-site.
It was an exciting time and we made sure we had a lot of fun along the way. I do remember being slightly annoyed the fourth or fifth time I had to round up the chickens or cows because the fencing had come down. The local community was key to our success, and they embraced us and supported along the way.
The transition to our current facility was a huge step and allowed Remuda to continue growing the team in a collaborative environment. The purchase of Strathmore Supplies was another huge step in being who we are today. Its crazy to think that less than 2 years ago, we did not really have a Design and Estimation department. I believe this company is on a fantastic path with a ton of very smart people who come in each day to make a difference. I’m very proud to be a part of the past 10 years, and although I can’t imagine what the next 10 will bring, I know it will be a blast!
